What the HR Coordinator Will Be Doing:
- Posting jobs, tracking applicants, scheduling interviews, and keeping candidates looped in without ghosting anyone (recruiting karma is real)
- Sending new hire paperwork and helping newbies feel like they’re not joining a cult—just a really organized law firm
- Assisting with onboarding, orientation, and keeping benefits running smoothly (401k? Check. Health insurance? Covered.)
- Managing personnel files and I-9s like a champ, and mastering E-verify like it’s your side hustle
- Helping with open enrollment and answering those “quick HR questions” that are never actually quick
- Coordinating firm events—staff appreciation days, wellness clinics, holiday parties, and maybe the occasional bake-off
- Supporting performance reviews without making anyone cry (ideally)
- Backstopping the admin team when someone’s on vacation and making sure attorneys get their CLEs without panic
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in HR, Business, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in a Human Resources support role – must be in a law firm and must be in California
- Solid understanding of HR practices and employment law will do the trick
- A sense of humor, an eye for detail, and the ability to keep a dozen plates spinning
