Probate Litigation Legal Assistant
Onsite

On-Site Full-Time No Remote
Compensation: $80,000–$105,000

If your happy place is a fast-paced Probate Litigation department where every day brings a new challenge—and you actually love the intricate world of probate litigation—this opportunity has your name on it.

Our client, a respected Newport Beach litigation firm, is seeking a polished, highly skilled Probate Litigation Legal Assistant to support a team that handles complex trust and estate disputes alongside business and civil litigation. (Important note: This is not a trust administration role. Litigation pros only!)

Because the probate litigation caseload isn’t yet full-time, you’ll enjoy a dynamic blend of probate and general business litigation support—ideal for someone who thrives on variety, ownership, and making themselves indispensable.

What You’ll Do as a Probate Litigation Assistant

You’ll partner closely with supervising attorneys, the Litigation Resource Manager, and a highly collaborative team to keep matters running smoothly. Your Probate Litigation Assistant days will include:

  • Managing civil and probate litigation cases from start to finish
  • Drafting and preparing pleadings, motions, affidavits, petitions, complaints, legal memoranda
  • E-filing (and occasional paper filing) with state, federal, and probate courts
  • Tracking and managing deadlines using the firm’s calendaring and docketing systems
  • Organizing, reviewing, and summarizing case materials
  • Preparing matrices, charts, and discovery-related documents
  • Supporting arbitration and trial preparation
  • Managing attorney calendars and routine administrative tasks
  • Maintaining accurate billable time records
  • Using Microsoft Office and NetDocs to keep documents sharp, organized, and moving

This role is perfect for a Probate Litigation Legal Assistant who is:

  • Experienced: Minimum 5 years of probate litigation—real courtroom-driven experience, not trust admin
  • Tech-savvy: Strong with Microsoft Office; familiar with NetDocs a plus
  • An undergraduate degree or ABA-approved paralegal certificate is preferred but not required.
  • Can work onsite
